ISIDE©: A Video Surveillance System for Rail and Mass transit Vehicles

ISIDE is a complete and modular Video Surveillance system for railway and mass transit vehicles.  The system features a solid main electronic unit, housing a variable number of modules suited for interfacing a number of external and internal video cameras, which can be either of analog or digital type.

The unit can be interfaced to the onboard diagnostic system via RS-485, CAN and MVB or other dedicated interface, and can be also interfaced by an external Portable Laptop Computer used as a Portable Test Unit (PTU), by means of an ethernet and/or USB connection.

Image fluxes are handled by the unit in digital format, and can be forwarded to external devices via a built-in internal ethernet switch.  All images are recorded in a removable storage unit, based on a ruggedized 3½” HDD module, featuring variable recording capabilities for continuous recording of up to several weeks.

The system user interface is of web-based type, and can be run by any external personal computer featuring standard web browsing software, provided that all critical system features are accessible only via dedicated user-selectable passwords. 
All video files are stored in encrypted format, according to most recent laws concerning privacy policy, and can be water-marked with a proper sign including date, time, vehicle number and other customer-specified information.
